Co-operatives
Kukudza
|
Kukudza AC is a registered co-operative that was established by the Trust with a student and selected community members, which predominantly focuses on alien clearing. The co-operative ran our six contracts, in the Mossel Bay area, doing alien clearing of alien vegetation to form firebreaks next to urban fringes. The co op undertook the removal of alien vegetation from areas which posed a high fire risk. The team operated in the greater Mossel Bay area. This co operative also assisted in the multi media components that the Trust was involved with.

Southern Cape Rangers
|
South Cape Rangers was the first student and community tour guide co operative established in Mossel Bay by the Trust. This is one of the more noticeable legacy projects that the Conservation Trust was involved with. The Conservancy Community Ranger project places community rangers into various conservancies in the Mossel Bay area, to act as wardens. Rangers were identified and selected for training at the Aardvark College, in order to obtain a qualification in nature guiding. These rangers had the important task of overlooking and maintaining conservancies to stay in their respective pristine state.
